Six years running a large Adventure Centre in South Africa, three years working with a Wilderness Ministry in the Alps, and many more qualifications in the industry, Jurie is ‘the guy’ to run the Adventure Base.

Leading canoeing on the Thames or rock climbing in the Lake District, Andy is in his element when surrounded by the splendour of Creation. He’s is our most experienced and well qualified instructor so you’re in great hands on an adventure.

After working as a teacher for twelve years, Kelly brought her passion for seeing young people succeed to A+. She gives them exciting and alternative opportunities to develop skills that will help them flourish in life.

Starting out as a Paramedic, Graham retrained as an Outdoor Activity Instructor in 2008 and has been on many adventures in God’s great creation since then. He moved from South Africa to join A+ in 2017 and we’re so glad he did.

Bookings, Fleet and Office

Jono will most likely be the person you will talk to when you give us a ring! He looks after the bookings calendar and our instructor team and very much enjoys watching them spend time encouraging and uplifting young people from behind the safety of his desk.

Formerly a youth pastor in rural mid-Wales, Tom has joined A+ with a passion to see young people realising their potential and not just staring at a screen all day. Tom’s hobbies include 1-1 chats over good coffee, watching the latest Marvel movies and singing.

Having graduated from Bangor University with a 1st class BSc Geography degree, Matt joined the team as our Conservation and Land Management Intern. He has a great love for the outdoors and spent large parts of his childhood on Dartmoor and on Devon’s beaches.

DBS Counter Signatory and Volunteers

Having worked on the front line as a primary teacher and then Headteacher, Margaret is now our expert in all things DBS. She loves seeing instructors passing on their skills and the young people coming back years later, some with their own young families.

Gap Year

Thomas has been fortunate to have travelled extensively, spending a year in Australia and exploring over 12,000 miles of Britain by bike. Urban Saints Guildford played a pivotal role in shaping his faith and he joined the GAP year programme straight from school.

After eight months in Glencoe, then uni, Will spent many years working in insurance, finance, and risk and compliance, before joining the Christian outdoor education sector in Australia, then he joined us at A+.

Fundraising

After graduating, Ruth worked in fundraising for a mission organisation, before heading out to Africa as a missionary herself for several years. She now balances working part time with looking after her three young children.

After working in marketing and communications in the NHS, local councils and national charities, Olivia now helps us part time and has three young children.
