Volunteers
Our volunteer team is vital to all we achieve here. We appreciate the support of all our volunteers! Some come to us regularly every week, and some return each year to help us with our camps or volunteer weeks.
April’s volunteer week was a working party that re-painted our conference hall and kitchen block. We plan to hold our next volunteer week in the Autumn – dates to be confirmed.
We also offer corporate volunteer days, so if your team is interested in joining us for a day of volunteering with us, we can offer a tailored program on a variety of different project types like tree planting, conservation, maintenance, etc.
You can register your interest for working parties or corporate volunteer days by emailing our volunteer coordinator here.
Current volunteering needs across A+ include:
- Supporting our Total Adventure Holidays
- Technical support with IT and help with the redesign of our A+ Website
- Social media/videography outreach
- Site, building or kit maintenance
- Assisting/leading activities for group bookings
- Driving minibuses and towing equipment
- Prayer support
- Fundraising events
- Gardening & Conservation Tasks
- Helping at reception at A+ and covering phones
- Supporting the weekly summer canoe club
- Supporting weekend activities on site
We require all potential volunteers to complete a registration process, which may include a DBS Enhanced Disclosure check because of our work with children and vulnerable adults.
Training
A+ runs training courses throughout the year for all skill levels, so even if you feel you do not have enough experience, you can still join us, get involved, and get qualified. Active volunteers also qualify for substantial discounts on these courses.
You can contact Graham to find out more about our training courses.
