Total Adventure Ascend
12th August – 14th August 2025
Unfortunately Ascend has been cancelled for 2025 due to lack of bookings. If you are interested in upcoming SEND holidays please get in touch and we will keep you informed.
Total Adventure Ascend is our NEW summer holiday for SEND children age 8+ and their siblings.
Join us on our Adventure Base for accessible summer fun!
As this is a new holiday we have taken these images from our other camps but they represent some of the fun and accommodations we will be offering at Ascend.
In 2024, we reached record numbers of SEND children at our Total Adventure holidays, which has provided us with an exciting opportunity to build on our good reputation.
This year, we are offering a NEW SEND-specific holiday.
Developed with our Adventure Impact team, Ascend will enable us to connect with children who find the size of our other camps challenging. It was designed specifically for individuals who may require additional support from adults to engage with or access our activities.
We welcome your child regardless of their stage on the diagnosis pathway.
The Programme
The exact programme for Ascend is still being developed; however, you can be sure that it will include a variety of amazing outdoor adventures and tonnes of sensory fun. Emphasis will be on choices within the program, allowing your child to progress at their own pace while remaining well-regulated. The full program and visual timetable will be available in advance of the camp and will be sent to all booked participants.
Wherever possible and practical, we will spend time outside in nature. However, unlike our other camps, if your child needs to bring a screen or tablet for regulation, this can be accommodated.
Highlights of the program so far include –
- Base Camp – a central location with quiet sensory spaces and permanent play areas – so that models can be worked on over several days
- Outdoor Fencing, boulder climbing, archery, circus skills
- Biking – we will ensure that each child has a suitable accessible bike with Windrush Bike Project kindly lending us some of their amazing bikes!
- Bushcraft in the woodland with mud kitchen, hammocks, nature crafts and marshmallows
- Infento building – a life-size electric vehicle building
- Baking – in small groups with our chefs
- Riverside Picnic – with Canoeing and Kayaking. Here, the boats can be rafted up so that the canoes are more stable and the staff can control and power the crafts as needed.
- Campfire with popcorn!
- Roadshow! Each afternoon, we will have a fun and interactive “talk” where we will share a bible verse and a short message.
Tailoring
We will be contacting you about your child’s specific interests and challenges so that we can, wherever possible, find a way to enable them to achieve their goals.
If you are unsure whether this camp is right for your child, please don’t hesitate to contact us to discuss further.
We welcome site visits with the children where they can meet some of the team and see the accommodation. A video walkthrough will also be available soon.
This form can be used to share additional information with our planning team.
Ascend is a three-day residential camp (staying on site is optional on both nights) focusing on accessibility with smaller groups and a tailored programme. We are offering a maximum of 40 places on this camp.
We will still be running our Jumpers programme (SEN-friendly alternative options) during Beacon this summer. If your child was on Beacon last year and wants to remain on the larger camp, they are welcome to do so. Our programme will continue to support them there.
Volunteers
We are very keen to encourage volunteers to join us for Ascend, especially those with experience working with SEND children. Our team vets all our volunteers and requires them to have Enhanced DBS checks. Please apply early so that we can introduce the children to the team on time. Volunteers for Ascend will be required to attend a full-day team training on Monday, August 11th, so that we are well-prepared for the camp.
It is a privilege to work with these children and to allow them to experience these adventures, as well as hear about God’s love. We hope that you think so too! There is a small fee to cover the cost of your accommodation and food on the camp. We ask this so that we can provide as much financial support to the children who come as possible. If the volunteer fee is a barrier for you, please let us know and we will do what we can.

We believe in making unforgettable experiences accessible to all. That’s why our price for the Ascend is a budget-friendly £210 for residential visitors or £165 for day visitors.
