An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Adventure Plus coaching team.
The role will be based at our partner school in Birmingham, Broadway Academy, and the candidate will have responsibility for heading up the school's outdoor education provision including DofE, and hillwalking days. There will also be a chance to develop a number of other Outdoor Edn initiatives in this school and possibly to spread good practice amongst other academies in the area.
The successful candidate will have a passion for seeing young people enjoying God’s creation; experience of running the DofE award within the confines of a school and the experience and qualifications to lead groups on expeditions.
This is a full time role and includes regular work during term time weekends.
The salary offered will be in the region on £25,000-£28,000 depending on qualifications and experience.
Desired qualifications would be an ML, SPA, DofE Assessor and a LEL3 tutor. Some form of biking qualification (MIAS/ British Cycling) would also be advantageous.
The candidate will be an Adventure Plus employee but be based in Birmingham, at Broadway Academy. They will need the organisational and communication skills to liaise with both companies to ensure the successful provision of outdoor activities an coordination across the two teams. The candidate will also be required to be an active leader and supervisor on expeditions in both lowland and mountain territory, and manage and maintain the schools outdoor equipment.
Finally, it is an occupational requirement for the candidate to be an active Christian, having a passion for spreading the good news of our Christian faith and looking to provide a Christian presence amongst our team.

We are looking for the right person to join our Adventure Impact team who work with young people with additional needs and/or those who come from disadvantaged or vulnerable backgrounds. We are passionate that the benefits of outdoor activities and education should be available to all, regardless of their life circumstances. Adventure Impact is the fastest growing part of Adventure Plus as we look to reach out and make a huge difference to young people who, for whatever reason, are finding life tough.
The right person would share this passion and ideally have some experience of working with disadvantaged or vulnerable young people and a love of the outdoors.
The candidate would also work alongside our instructor team in delivering adventure activities on our site and further afield.
Training in a number of adventure activities would be provided. In the past this has included, amongst others, LEL3, MIAS Level 1 and BCU canoe and kayak coach.
On site accommodation would be a possibility.

Adventure Plus runs a wide variety of activities, residentials and expeditions.
The right person would have a love for the outdoors, a passion to work with children and young people and some experience and qualifications in the world
of outdoor activities. Desired but not essential qualifications would be a selection from: Paddlesport Instructor (Level 1 Canoe and Kayak coach),
LEL3, Archery GB level 1 coach, and a mountain bike leader award.
Higher level qualifications such as SPA, ML and Coach Award Level 2 would also be welcomed.

We are looking for the right person to co-ordinate the development of our Adventure Base.
You may be recently retired with a relevant construction background (e.g. in architecture, construction project management, a civil engineer or a QS…)
and would like to use your skills at this Christian adventure centre. You would be involved in ensuring that the Adventure Base is constructed
safely and within budget and to time so we can begin to welcome young people on life-changing adventures at the brand new Adventure Base.

Assist in planning the development process, liaise with architects and the ‘A+ Development Group', engage and coordinate contractors, ensure the development
runs safely, on time and to budget.

Conservation and Land Management (Autumn – Spring): including practical conservation tasks such woodland management and organising Volunteer Conservation
Days, e.g. tree planting and hedge laying; contributing towards the design of wildlife areas on the new Adventure Base site; and developing wildlife
survey skills.
