The Adventure Base will enable A+ to extend our current range of activities to create a unique blend of urban free sports and classic outdoor adventures, to challenge, inspire and motivate young people from both rural and urban environments.
Adventure Plus has been at the forefront of providing quality adventure activities to children for 20 years. Founded in
1990 by Jon and Tessa Cox, Adventure Plus has been running adventure activity holidays, school residentials, DofE
expeditions and a host of other exciting events to engage young people and to transform lives at sites in Oxfordshire and throughout
the UK.
We are on the brink of the next amazing chapter in our charity’s story. God has wonderfully provided the funding and resources
needed for the purchase of a beautiful site in Clanfield, West Oxfordshire and we have been operating from our new base on
the Windmill Farm Conference Centre since 2015.
Our passionate and experienced team will use their decades of experience to create a unique and purpose-built Adventure Base that can offer affordable accommodation and a range of exciting adventure activity options.
Plans include a Yurt village providing exciting affordable accommodation, plus:
- Urban Adventure Zone: Skate Park, BMX Zone & Parkour arena
- Woodlands bush-craft zones
- Mountain bike skills area, on site trails and off-site routes
- Full-sized pitches for multi-use sports activities
- Indoor and outdoor climbing walls, with aerial runways
- High & low ropes courses and initiative challenges
- Mountain boarding hill with underground caving maze
- All weather archery ranges
- 3 acre adventure activity lake with bridge building islands & seal launch,
- Inland artificial Coasteering facility (the first in the UK?)
Conservation and Environmental Education: A+ is passionate about outdoor education and envoronmental conservation as well
as adventure activities. We offer conservation and environmental programmes in association with A Rocha UK. Conservation areas
provide exciting spaces for environmental education and help increase biodiversity on the site. Our conservation team will
offer wildlife and education activities for all ages.
