Vodafone Foundation made a generous donation to Adventure Plus by paying for one of their staff members to join us for 2 months earlier this summer.

Ricky Jayes, retail manager at Vodafone's busy store in Bognor Regis, West Sussex, was one of 500 employees chosen from 11,000 to work for their selected charity as part of their World of a Difference programme. Not only did Vodafone allow Ricky the time away form his store, they also donated £2,700. This was a huge commitment by Vodafone and Ricky.

Ricky added an enormous amount of value during his stay through:

• sharing his passion for young people on events - inspiring and encouraging them
• bringing his technical wizardry to help us prepare for implementing a new database
• raising over £700 by paddling the, Witney to Westminster Canoe Challenge
• establishing our new text donation system allowing us to fundraise by text.

Ricky says “During the time that I have worked with Adventure Plus I have found a new appreciation for the outdoors and loved the opportunities I was given to work with young people and adults from all backgrounds and locations. 

"The team at Adventure Plus work incredibly hard every day and they are an inspiration for any organisation of any size." 

Ricky remains in touch with Adventure Plus, volunteering on events, and will be coming back to complete Witney to Westminster in 2013.

Supporters can make donations of up to £10 by texting PLUS21 and either 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 10 to 70070 to make their donation e.g. PLUS21 5 – to donate £5. The text message is free and provided by JustTextGiving. All of the donation will be passed to Adventure Plus via your mobile phone bill and once you have completed this you will receive a text message with a link for Gift Aid.
