Guest Coordinator

This is an opportunity for a person, preferably with experience in the hospitality industry, to work as our Guest Coordinator at A+ Hospitality. 

A+ Hospitality aims to give each guest a warm and personal welcome, and the Guest Coordinator will be our guests’ first point of contact.
Your role is to be that friendly person at all times as you take groups through the booking process, answer their enquiries and make sure payments are made.
You should be confident on the phone and over email with good, basic IT skills essential.
You will support our centre management and hospitality teams, ensuring they have the information required to give our guests the best stay possible.
You will be part of a small but experienced team and should enjoy working in a dynamic and busy environment.

 

Hours of Work: 40 hours per week. Some flexibility to work later shifts and the odd weekend may be asked for.
Salary: £22,500 – £27,500 depending on experience
Responsibilities: In line with the accompanying Profile and Job Description.
Start Date: Available from early February 2024, with handover in January 2024.

Housekeeping

Our active hospitality business provides top-quality care and hospitality to a wide range of guests and groups nationwide.

Hours: At least 20 hours per week (09.30 – 14.30, although some flexibility is available).

Hours would be planned through a rota and would include occasional weekend work.

This role would involve general housekeeping duties.

  • Daily ‘routine’ checks on public facilities
  • Resetting of guest bedrooms, 
  • Upkeep, resetting and cleaning of all general facilities, including meeting rooms, staff rooms, 

dining rooms, kitchens etc. 

  • Laundry duties.

 

The applicant needs to:

    • Have an eye for detail to ensure high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and tidiness in all residential areas, meeting rooms, and public areas.
    • Have the ability to work proactively independently, using initiative to manage responsibilities and deadlines without direct supervision. 
    • Be a great team member with a heart to serve our guests and the A+ team by providing a cheerful & willing heart and a keenness to learn.
    • Have the ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve with a can-do approach.
    • Be willing to offer support to other team members to reach common goals.
    • Work the occasional weekend, if required.

Holidays: to be paid Pro rata.

Salary: £10.42 per hour

Activity Coach and Event Leader

The Activity Coach & Event Leader with Adventure Plus will organise and deliver a range of events at the A+ site and across the UK. Activities may include e.g. abseiling; archery; biking; bush craft; canoeing; climbing; fencing; kayaking; team building; walking (the list is not exhaustive).
They will: build relationships with young people – inspiring them, building their confidence and equipping them to fully participate in activities; and maintain key relationships with clients.
Working with groups of around 10, you will coach young people – establishing and maintaining confidence over one or more sessions ranging from 3 hours up to a series of events over a week’s residential. These events also provide an exciting opportunity to encourage participants to stay in touch with A+, joining us for our Total Adventure Holidays and possibly even signing up for our Instructor Training (& discipleship) Gap Year.
There will also be responsibility for kit and equipment maintenance and an opportunity to help train and mentor new GAP year coaches as they start their journey into the world of outdoor activities.
Applicants will be committed to the Christian ethos of A+ and will have a strong quiver of outdoor education qualifications – ideally some of canoeing, climbing, hiking (LEL), bush craft, archery & mountain biking. Senior Instructor

We are looking for someone to lead our instructor team. They should have a passion for the outdoors; a desire to mentor and see our instructor team grow and flourish as well as an enthusiastic and positive approach to seeing young people enjoy the outdoors.

The ideal candidate would have a strong quiver of qualifications including SPA/RCI; ML; White Water Canoe Coach as well as some Archery, Biking, Bushcraft, and Fencing.

They would also have experience leading a team of instructors and have good knowledge of the workings of a centre including kit maintenance, line management and health and safety procedures.

They would work closely with our Training Manager to organise and deliver courses for our trainee instructors and external candidates and also be encouraged to develop A+’s activity portfolio and increase the range of activities offered.

As this would be a senior management role, candidates would need to be committed to the Christian ethos of A+

This is a full-time role with a salary dependent on experience and qualifications.

 From £24,000-£27,000 (charitable sector!) depending on experience and qualifications, with scope to grow. Plus £3000 to help with relocation costs. For married applicants there maybe the possibility of subsidized housing.

Chief Instructor: Training and Health and Safety in Adventure Activities

.We are looking for someone with an appetite for leading by example in the outdoors, a passion for adventure, a desire to inspire others and who is committed to the Christian ethos of A+.

Experience of professional Adventure Centre management and team leadership will be an advantage. A range of (AALS in scope) qualifications. Proven organisational ability and a desire to develop safe and clear systems for team training, kit storage and maintenance. A vision to help Adventure Plus create a cutting edge, exciting Adventure Base. Experience of helping develop adventure centre facilities an advantage.

Internship: Adventure Youthwork and Adventure Education

We are looking for the right person to join our Adventure Impact team who work with young people with additional needs and/or those who come from disadvantaged or vulnerable backgrounds. We are passionate that the benefits of outdoor activities and education should be available to all, regardless of their life circumstances. Adventure Impact is the fastest growing part of Adventure Plus as we look to reach out and make a huge difference to young people who, for whatever reason, are finding life tough.

The right person would share this passion and ideally have some experience of working with disadvantaged or vulnerable young people, a love of the outdoors and will be committed to the Christian ethos of A+.

The candidate would also work alongside our instructor team in delivering adventure activities on our site and further afield.

Training in a number of adventure activities would be provided. In the past this has included, amongst others, LEL3, MIAS Level 1 and BCU canoe and kayak coach.

Internship: Adventure Education and Conservation Co-ordinator

This A+ / A Rocha internship has two strands:

Conservation and Land Management (Autumn – Spring): including practical conservation tasks such woodland management and organising Volunteer Conservation Days, e.g. tree planting and hedge laying; contributing towards the design of wildlife areas on the new Adventure Base site; and developing wildlife survey skills.

Adventure Education (Spring-Summer): including training in a number of adventure activities and working alongside the A+ instructor team delivering adventure activities on our site and further afield (e.g. at Ashburnham Place, Quinta Centre or the Brecon Beacons).

Internship: Conservation and Land Management Co-ordinator

This A+ / A Rocha internship will provide training and experience in practical conservation and land management as A+ design and coordinate the layout for an Outdoor Education & Adventure Youth work centre in line with our Conservation Site Management Plan.
